About

If you don’t know me, my name is Graham Bourque. I am a music student at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington, and I want to help others lead a more positive life.

I am a Catholic. But that doesn’t mean that you have to be Catholic/Christian to enjoy my blog. My posts will be Christian-based, but that doesn’t mean you have to believe everything or anything I say. I am just a young adult trying to make a difference in people’s lives, one blog post at a time.

With that being said, I am going to tell you why I am starting a blog.

Every Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday), most Catholics try to think of things they can give up, or something they can do to grow closer to God. I see so much hate and sin on the Internet. So, I was tempted to give up the Internet and social media for Lent. But, that wouldn’t solve any problems. That would just keep me from seeing the bad things. I want to help others. I know that I can’t take the hate off of the Internet, but I can try to balance it with good, positive messages.

So, instead of giving up the Internet for Lent, I am going to try to use it to spread positive, meaningful, and encouraging messages.

My blog is called “Bourque’s Breakfast” because it’s something I want people to read, if possible, in the morning. Whether you read it while you drink your morning coffee, or while you’re on the bus, or even in class (who does that?), I hope to inspire you to think about how you can make a positive impact on other people’s lives throughout the day.

So, I invite you to sit and enjoy breakfast with me every morning at Bourque’s Breakfast.
